Chevron ready to attack the people of Poland

Attention Globalfrackdown family Here is the last news from Zurawlow, Poland, please forward it, also to all the journalists you know directly: Call for the direct support of in Zurawlow, Poland: Chevron plans to stop the protest by force on Monday February 24. The farmers have stood their ground for nearly 300 days! PROTEST SUPPORTERS AND VIDEO MAKERS ARE NEEDED! After almost 300 days, the longest in the history of post-war Polish protest of residents and inhabitants of ?urawlow and other villages of the municipalitiy of Grabowiec need our support. On Monday February 24, against the law and without official permits, the company Chevron plans to step in with heavy equipment onto the concession's Grabowiec leased plot. As usually practiced in such cases, a security company should give a support.

Environmental degradation in the process of fracking, well known from the United States, was from the beginning the main reason of the protest. A threat to agriculture, and to the reservoirs of drinking water, the toxicity of muds and air pollution were met with violent resistance from people who for centuries lived here from crops. The opposition quickly turned into battle against lawlessness and the interests of a narrow group of people and companies at the expense of local community and the society as a whole.

The conflict lasting over 2 years, with a direct protest from June 3, 2013, did not meet any constructive response from the authorities. Chevron, investing millions in advertising since the unlawful attempt to start his works, completely ignores the social opposition, declaring at the same time their "social responsibility".

In the framework of the implementation of these values Chevron goes to intimidate protesters into trials. All this did not bring the intended effect, as a result the group is moving to solve the power-known from other parts of the world (Ecuador, Nigeria, recently also Romania). The company still, however, remains unpunished despite courts judgments.

We urge so all of you, who have enough to ignore social voice and agree that we have the right to decide our own fate, and who believe as we do that nature is one of the most important resources to support people!
